get a phosphate reactor and some chemiclean and the problem will go away for good after about a week or so.

First thing I would get is a good phosphate test kit to know where you're at. I had a problem with phosphates then I attended a FMAS meeting and it just so happened they were talking about phosphates. RObert from Eco-Reef in Pompano described that you can put in a reactor but that won't drop your phosphates as fast as using a product like phosbuster or there's another one from Kent Marine called Phosphate-E I believe. I used the phosBuster from CaribSea and dropped the phosphates to 0 in a day or two. I'm waiting on my phosphate reactor to be delivered now. The other thing you could do is dose the tank with vodka but you need to follow the directions to the T. Check out this article in ReefKepping magazine:

thank you i added phosphate control by blue vet r/x last night and already see results. I checked my phosphate level last night and it was 0.5 ouchsad

more current somtimes does the trick. i have found as well useing different foods or stimulators  can cause red slim one is Kent marine coral accell. its all the crude fat and proteins. im not saying thats your problem but, red slime loves that stuff

i sometime would like to try to take the coral i want to feed and have a 20 gal. food tank drop it in for a day feed that tank heavy pull it and then do a 5 gal water change in the food tank. I dont know what do you all think of that? please comment

Also when was the last time the bulbs where changed sometimes thats all it takes is new bulbs

Do you still have this problem? what sort of rock do you have?
