Keepen' looking good!
this is my 125 dual corner over flow mixed reef that i set up about 10 months ago. i had a 45 gallon that my corals and fish outgrew, and quite a bit of the live rock, corals, and fish are from the 45, but all the frags, zoa colonies, and sps corals are what i have been collecting and adding to this 125. also got several new fish for this tank. quick rundown of set up...filtration=40 gallon fuge with cheato, small pieces of VERY LIVE rocks, and Fiji Mudd for the substrate(REALLY good product if you are looking for a good substrate for your fuge, I highly recommend it), another 20 gallon sump that houses my Octopus Extreme 160 (I bought the purple pin wheel for sicce pumps when it came out...it was a pain to install, but WELL worth the time and money spent on the upgrade...Saw INCREDIBLE results immediately) and also have a Phosban reactor running in the small sump with Rowaphos as the media. Blueline 70 return pump, and hydor two-way controllable wave maker w/ two controllable hydor 4 power heads for extra and more natural flow. Lighting= Three 250 watt Radium 20K mogul bulbs running from three 250 watt Galaxy ballasts. Reflectors are Lumen Max Elites. Also have 12 blue LED lights that I placed myself throughout the canopy (closed canopy so no PAR gets lost out back). I run the LEDs 24/7, but I placed them where I wanted them at night in order to get my desired affect. Growth, color, and overall health is amazing (knock on wood). Had never run a fuge before, and wanted to try a more natural way of filtration rather than a bunch of chemical filtration like i had used in the past. I must say that it was probably the best choice I could have made. The fuge is thriving like crazy and is constantly supplying my main system with pods, feather dusters, tube worms, and other beneficial micro organisms. Both my corals and fish have definitely been looking amazing, and I know a lot of it has to do with the fuge. Anyhow, that's a just the "nutshell version". This pic isn't really that great. Because it's located in the hall as you walk into my house, it's impossible for me to get directly in front of it and be far enough away to snap a pic of the whole tank. Plus my camera isn't anything special. Just wanted to post at least once pic of my never ending project! hah!
