Mantis found in my 125gal today

I was cleaning my tank today and found the lil Bas---d in a rock. almost fell from the chair I was standing on. I have heard they pack a punch so didnt want to get that. It was hard to get out of the rock but sucess & determination finally won over, takes two grown adults to get a 3" shrimp from a rock. lol Taking him to the LFS they will take him I am sure.
Brown with orange eyes and blue legs. Pretty lil thing but I didnt want to chance it. My LFS took him right away no problems.
lol I bet they would take a $20 matis for free

ewww...they creep me out!!! i have a phobia of praying mantises, so sure as shoot wouldn't want to find one of THOSE in my tank!! ech! i just extracted one of THESE (see FREAKISH pic below)! 1 FOOT LONG all together!! It was in a rock my friend needed me to hang onto for him...THANK GOD I'm paranoid AS HELL about putting ANYTHING in my tank...Took a total of about 8 hours to get the WHOLE thing! Ended up having to chop up the whole rock cause it was like a labrynth in there! CREEPY!!! No mantis for me! EVER!! I HOPE!! lol! I will have to hire someone to catch it, and I will rent a hotel room until it's OUT! haha! id have nightmares that it was crawling out of my tank to get me!! lol!

I love them mantis, Hopin to get one in afew week, will be setting upi its own tank. they have awsome coolration....

Ash, if you dive down here, they get really big. My friend that is crazy was free diving with me and was sticking his hand down in the holes in the sand to see what was in there. In one hole a 2.5 ta 3ft. mantis came running out. Holy Helllll right!
omfg!!! i would have freaked the hell out!!!! there is a youtube video that a guy took of an octopus and he's just swimming around all calm and cool following the octopus, and suddenly a flippin mantis shrimp jumps out of the sand at the octopus! the guy yelled underwater!! MORE THAN ONCE! lol! cause the frickin mantis shrimp kept jumping at them!! they are psycho!!
