has anyone ever built there own skimmer? if so please tell. years ago we used to build stuff kinda like skimmers but i wouldnt have no idea where to get that kind of plastic tubing anymore.

Another thing that works like a protein skimmer is an algae turf scruber. Its the natural way to remove proteins.

as far as getting the clear tubing, just look on line at the plastic suppliers, that's the easiest way.

here is one site where you can get the 3 or 4' pvc tube, kinda expensive andonly sold in 10' lengts. maybe several people needing this would like to pool up and buy it. I dont need it but i am willing to pool to help out. wouldn;t mind tring to build my own skimmer.
