Local Collection

redsoxbill 22 posts

Does anyone on this forum collect fish / inverts / algae locally.  I live in NC, and we can collect algae, inverts, and small fish locally.  we get everything from lettuce algae, other macro algae, peppermint shrimp, starfish, snails, hermits, file fish, blennies, and occasional angels, triggers, and tangs that get in the gulf stream.  what about you folks local in Florida or other states.

Thanks,
Bill

Do any of you FL guys and gals use the local mangroves for filtration in your sumps. still trying to guage their affectiveness and if they are worth the trouble?

I do in my 15.5 gallon frag tank, my LFS gives them to us whenever we need them.  Does it help, I dont know but nothing dies in there and I do a 2 gal change every week. grin
Oh and I forgot to mention that I do not use a skimmer on that tank.  What I read is they are like a skimmer of sorts.
