Does anyone on this forum collect fish / inverts / algae locally. I live in NC, and we can collect algae, inverts, and small fish locally. we get everything from lettuce algae, other macro algae, peppermint shrimp, starfish, snails, hermits, file fish, blennies, and occasional angels, triggers, and tangs that get in the gulf stream. what about you folks local in Florida or other states.
Thanks,
Bill
Agreed they restrict us from alot and want us to buy liecenses to do such a thing but have caught some interesting things but was always scared to put in any of my tanks
Cant get anything arround here in nyc same wiht the laws. beside the water too cold.
Do any of you FL guys and gals use the local mangroves for filtration in your sumps. still trying to guage their affectiveness and if they are worth the trouble?
Not sure they are Bill.... I will try and find you some this weekend when I am out there if you want.
I do in my 15.5 gallon frag tank, my LFS gives them to us whenever we need them. Does it help, I dont know but nothing dies in there and I do a 2 gal change every week.
Oh and I forgot to mention that I do not use a skimmer on that tank. What I read is they are like a skimmer of sorts.
I would love to get some, here in NYC they are selling them for $15-30 each if you can find them.
Thanks.
I thought it was always summer in FL? Got any snow shovels I can borrow?
